DryMax®

Remove damaging moisture from your transformers with a passive online dryer

DryMax® is a stand-alone, online passive dryer that continuously removes moisture that can cause damage while the transformer remains fully energized and in service. Excessive moisture within the solid (paper) insulation of a transformer greatly increases the risk of flashover and dielectric failure. DryMax is the dry-out solution for transformers with elevated or unacceptable moisture content (ppm or % saturation).

Quick Features List:

  • Available for permanent, mobile, or service-only installations
  • Moisture control for both the oil and the insulation
  • Remote reporting to Transformer Dashboard®
  • Patented green technology and recyclable drying media
  • More than 2,000 units installed since 2004
Models/Options

DryMax® – Permanent Installation

DryMax connects directly to your live transformer for as long as needed to completely remove moisture. Upon installation, it immediately prevents further degradation of your paper insulation, improving your transformer's reliability.

  • Recommended for critical transformers and equipment under extremely demanding loads
  • Dedicated DryMax unit and service package
  • Installed for the lifetime of the transformer
  • 2 filtering columns

DryMax® – Mobile Installation

A mobile DryMax installation is designed to help organizations reduce moisture in an entire fleet of transformers. The mobile DryMax installations can be moved from transformer to transformer as moisture-reduction levels are achieved.

  • Recommended for customers with multiple “wet” transformers
  • Addresses the needs of the entire transformer fleet
  • Removes and refits your DryMax units to multiple transformers as needed

DryMax® – Service-Only Installation

A fleet-wide plan can include both service-only dryouts and DryMax ownership to meet your organization’s needs. As a service-only option, SDMyers provides moisture-reduction services through temporary installations that remain in place until moisture levels are reduced.

  • Recommended if you have multiple transformers with immediate needs
  • All the benefits of remedial moisture reduction without the long-term commitment of multiple unit purchases
  • The same dedicated service from SDMyers as ownership programs
Features

01

Moisture control for both the oil and the insulation

Adding a DryMax unit to a transformer with elevated moisture levels is a good investment in your equipment and production reliability. It will effectively reduce moisture in your transformer’s oil and paper, preventing further degradation of the paper insulation.

02

Perform moisture reduction while the transformer is fully energized

No need to de-energize your transformer. DryMax is an always-on approach with a built-in moisture monitor that tracks moisture in % saturation and ppm, giving you clear visibility into the transformer's moisture status while the system runs.

03

Patented green technology and recyclable drying media

DryMax continuously conditions transformer oil using recyclable filtering media — our patented green technology — to help maintain stable moisture levels over time. The filtering columns are easily replaced as the medium becomes saturated, and SDMyers monitors inlet and discharge moisture levels to determine how often the columns need to be replaced.

04

Remote reporting to Transformer Dashboard®

DryMax provides key operating and condition data — bottom oil temperature, moisture, pump pressure, run status, and alarms — with notification options by email or phone. Remote monitoring and control are supported through a wireless cellular connection.
